Carboy Winery To Open Winery & Vineyard In Grand Valley
Carboy Winery, Colorado’s fastest growing winery, opening three locations in the past four years is set to do it again in 2021! The team at Carboy announced today it will be opening the doors to Carboy Winery & Vineyard in Palisade, Colorado later this year. The new site will include an 11.5 acre vineyard and a tasting room.
Initially a négociant winery working primarily with out-of-state growers, Carboy’s commitment to Colorado viticulture has grown exponentially since 2017, harvesting over 300 tons of Colorado grown grapes, and producing award-winning Colorado wines. Carboy works with several growers in Colorado’s Grand Valley AVA, however, this marks the first vineyard that will be farmed, owned, and operated by Carboy Winery.
“We believe Colorado is the next frontier in winemaking and we’re excited to be a big part of this growing industry.” said Kevin Webber, one of the managing partners at Carboy Winery. “It’s always been our goal to put Colorado wine on the map and to finally plant our feet in the soil (literally) out in the Grand Valley really brings this full circle for us.”
“The focus this year will be primarily on vineyard management and planting the vineyard with grapes we believe thrive in our climate and have the best chance at producing excellent wine,” Webber says. Following harvest the plan is to begin construction of a new production facility and tasting room adorned with a roof-top patio design that will offer breathtaking 360 degree views of the whole valley. A soft opening of Carboy Winery at Mt. Garfield Estate will take place in the fall of 2021 with a grand opening slated for spring 2022. “Mt. Garfield and the Bookcliffs are such a distinctive and prominent feature of the Grand Valley that we wanted to honor it. We’re excited to have people out to the new location and showcase what Colorado has to offer in this growing industry!”
